Kintyre Agricultural Society (KAS) held its winter show on Saturday at Ballygreggan Farm by kind permission of the Millar family.

Overall champion in the dairy section and winner of the County Garage cup was A&J Pirie, Machrihanish, while the McKerral cup for champion Clydesdale was awarded to D&C MacPhail, Garcalfra.

KAS secretary John Armour said: ‘Ballygreggan once again proved to be an excellent venue for a fine show of 10 calves, 15 cows and heifers and 12 horses which competed in front of a large crowd of spectators.’

Judges for the event, sponsored by ED&F Man, were Alan Kennedy in the dairy section, and Susan Woods in the horse section, and their awards were as follows.

Dairy section:

Class one Ayrshire calf exhibited by primary school pupil: 1 Jack Ralston, East Drumlemble, 2 Cameron Ralston, East Drumlemble.
