Drumlemble Primary School’s pupil council showed its humanitarian side when it bought a jerrycan to help hurricane victims.
The children raised money for those affected by the recent hurricanes, and after some research, decided that buying jerrycans was the best idea.
After discussing it with their classmates, they held a bring and buy sale.
All children in the school, from pre-five to primary seven, brought in toys, games and books to sell and last Friday, the pupil council set up their stalls.
A target of £35 was set, to buy one jerrycan. The pupils were very pleased to collect £72.20, more than double, which means they can buy two jerrycans.
