Billy Irving freed
Campbeltown is overjoyed that pirate hunter and former paratrooper Billy Irving is free.
In Campbeltown Billy is known for more than just his career choices – he is a local lad who grew up in this town.
He is considered as one of Campbeltown’s own, and the people of Kintyre have been behind him since the start of his ordeal.
The support for Billy’s family and friends, especially online, has been immense. A Facebook page in support of all six British men who were incarcerated has 11,323 ‘likes’ and one for Billy alone has almost half that amount, currently sitting at 5,567.
Marvellous Christmas market
The crowd was so large at Explore Campbeltown’s Christmas market that it was a struggle to squeeze round the stalls in Springbank’s malt barn.
The myriads of items for sale demonstrated the talent and skill that Kintyre’s residents have – from woodwork, photography and art to cooking, baking and knitting, the list could go on and on.
A huge well done should go to all the stall holders, as well as Explore Campbeltown for organising the inspiring event.
