As news came of ex-paratrooper Billy Irving being freed from prison in India a Campbeltown man unearthed a photo from the Year 2000.

It shows James McCorkindale and pipers Ian McKerral, Billy Irving, aged 20, and John Brown on the way to London, together with 60 others to represent Campbeltown’s history through music song and dance at the Millenium Dome.

Mr McCorkindale said that Argyll and Bute council had asked him to produce a show, in February 2000, involving children from P7 to S6 and Billy was one of the adult helpers.
