Kintyre’s golfing doyenne Belle Robertson came to the fore at a Bellochantuy SWI meeting to judge baking, golf club covers and sporting memorabilia.

At the recent meeting Mrs Robertson gave an insight into the personalities she had met during her golfing life.

She judged the competitions, before Judith McRae gave a fulsome vote of thanks to Mrs Robertson, and president Elaine Hemmings closed the meeting.

Results: Baking: Three cheese scones: gold Joan Grady and Margaret McKinnon, silver Diane Roberts, Jeanette Brodie, Libby Kerr and Lois Fell. Handicraft: Cover for a golf club: gold Margaret McKinnon, Lois Fell and Libby Kerr. Fun competition: Item of sporting memorabilia: gold Tricia Fair, silver Diane Roberts, Susan Turner, Lois Fell, Jeanette Brodie and Libby Kerr.
