As the Courier went to press a packed meeting at the Ardshiel hotel discussed the future of tourist information in Kintyre.
More than 40 people at the mini summit managed by Argyll and the Isles Tourism Cooperative (AITC) all agreed that a joint effort will be needed when Visit Scotland pull out next year.

Christmas is round the corner
This week Campbeltown’s street illuminations appeared and if all goes according to plan they will be lit on November 24.
The town is in the vanguard of the 3D printed circuit board revolution and the latest lights, set to shine, are some of the first of their kind in the UK.
From Campbeltown Town Hall across Cross Street are lights which are almost a replica of those at Glasgow’s Royal Exchange Square.
The volunteers of the Campbeltown Christmas Lights Committee should be congratulated for all their efforts.
