A euphonium player proved he had the sweetest notes of all to become the West of Scotland Junior Solo Champion.
Kyle Paterson, playing an instrument, the name of which derives from a the Greek word: εὔφωνος, meaning sweet-voiced, beat 20 other brass band musicians to win the title recently at Kilmarnock.
