Possibly Kintyre’s best spectator event will see 190 crazy challengers take on 42 obstacles in less than five miles.
Wee Toon Warrior, Fiona Irwin, known for her own ferocious fitness, has taken over running the event for 2017 and has added 10 fresh obstacles including a pond, nicknamed Binnie’s Bath after the man who dug it out.
Host Ms Irwin said: ‘I am quite happy with the entries at 190. All are entered as individuals although there are bound to be some teams.
‘Registration for pre-entered challengers opens at 8.15am tomorrow morning (Saturday) and the first waves of racers depart at 9am.
‘There are 15 minute intervals between waves. I don’t want to say too much about the obstacles so as not to give the game away.
‘Campbeltown Co-op will be donating all water bananas and cereal bars at the event.’
Entry this year was set at £27.50 which includes a re-designed tee shirt, by Linn Coffield of L C Design and Argyll Bakeries refreshments at the finish.
All profits from the event will be donated to the chosen charity which is Campbeltown Young Fire Fighters.
On Sunday the young firefighters tested the course in blazing but cool November sunshine and gave it the thumbs up.
The senior firefighters will be operating the usual slippery slide at the finish and may be at other locations during the race.
Ms Irwin added: ‘Volunteers and marshalls are the heart of every event, without these amazing people no event would go ahead.
‘So if jumping into big muddy puddles isn’t for you but you wouldn’t mind watching others do it give us a message and get involved.
‘We can guarantee you will have lots of fun.’
