COUTTS – Peacefully, at home in Houston, Texas, USA, on October 17, 2017, Muriel Coutts Hansen, in her 62nd year, youngest daughter of Rosina Campbell McKinven and George William Coutts. She is deeply mourned by her husband Tom Hansen, daughters Laura, Donna and Paige, grandson Cameron, and siblings Eunice, Rosemary, Deborah and Michael.
CRAWFORD – Peacefully, at Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead, on October 18, 2017, Duncan Anderson Crawford, aged 66 years, of 3 An Doirlinn, Ardfern, beloved son of the late Donald and Flora Crawford, dear brother of Donald and Neil, and uncle of Donna and Ryan. A good neighbour and dear friend to many. Funeral service was held in Craignish Parish Church, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, followed by interment at Kilvaree Cemetery. Sadly missed.
DIXON – Suddenly, at Dalmally Auction Mart, on October 13, 2017, Alexander Bruce Dixon, aged 51 years, of Killinochonoch Farm, Kilmichael Glassary, Lochgilphead, beloved son of Wilma and the late David Dixon (Kilbride Farm), much loved father of Alastair, Karen and Odhran, cherished partner of Mairi, dear brother of Sheila and Robert and a much respected brother-in-law, uncle and cousin to all the family. A good friend to many. Funeral service will be held in Kilmartin Parish Church, today Friday, October 27, 2017, at 12.00 noon, thereafter, interment will take place at the former Shinty Field, Kilmartin, adjacent to existing cemetery. Family flowers only please. There will be a retiral collection at funeral service.
MINSHAW – Peacefully, after a long illness, on October 18, 2017, Alan L Minshaw, in his 71st year, Ardgowan, High Askomil, Campbeltown, beloved husband of Peggy Minshaw, a much loved father of Andrew, Gillian and Lorna and a loving grandfather. Service in the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church, Campbeltown, on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 1.00pm. A cremation service will take place in Cardross Crematorium, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2.15pm. All friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. A retiral collection will be held in aid of the Argyll Scouts.
MOUAT – In the care of her Ardfenaig family, on October 17, 2017, Euphemia (Amy) Graham Mouat, née Munro, aged 91 years, formerly of Lochgilphead and Campbeltown, beloved wife of the late Willie Mouat (postmaster, Campbeltown), much loved mum of Jan, and adored grandma of Lynn, Ailie, Kerri and Kathryn. A dear friend to many. Funeral service was held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, on Monday, October 23, 2017, followed by interment at Kilkerran Cemetery, Campbeltown.
MACARTHUR – Hugh and Georgina would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following the sad loss of Jenny. Special thanks to Dr Norrie and the district nursing team for their care and attention over the last few weeks, to T A Blair for their caring and professional services, to Rev William Crossan for a comforting service and to the Ardshiel Hotel for a fine purvey.
MACFARLANE – The family of the late Netta MacFarlane would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy, cards, phone calls and visits following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of Oban, Royal Alexandra, Paisley and Lochgilphead hospitals for their care and attention, and to the doctors and staff of Tarbert Medical Centre, in particular Cathanna, for their kindness and care. Thanks also to Matthew Ramsay for a personal and uplifting service; to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for professional guidance and services, to Marjorie Kelly for beautiful music accompaniment and to the Tarbert Hotel for excellent purvey. Finally, our thanks to all who attended at church and graveside to pay their respects. The retiral collection raised £950 for Mairi Semple Fund and Autism Scotland.
MCLEAN – Alice would like to thank relatives and friends for all expressions of sympathy received following the loss of Duncan. Special thanks to doctors, district nurses, ambulance service, care agencies and Lorraine, who contributed so much to Duncan remaining at home during his long illness, and appreciation to everyone who visited him. Grateful thanks to the Rev Philip Wallace for conducting the funeral service, to Ronnie Roberts for delivering the fitting eulogy, to Nettie Semple for organ music, to Jane Mayo for flowers, to the Blair family for helpful funeral arrangements, to the Argyll Hotel, Bellochantuy for catering, and to all who attended the church and graveside.
