Campbeltown Pupils 2009s and 2011s kicked off in Lochnell’s own football festival ‘world cup.’

The two young teams joined 450 young players from clubs including: St Peters FC (Paisley), Westerton United (Glasgow), Arran United, Helensburgh FC, Dumbarton Riverside, Fort William FC, Lochgilphead Red Star, Tarbert Soccer Centre, Oban Saints Ajax and Oban Saints Warriors.

A Lochnell FC spokesperson said: ‘Lochnell FC would like to thank the many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the festival happen.

‘The referees for the 2008 section and Aldi, Lidl and Tesco Oban stores for donating fruit and water for all players.’
