BANKS – Peacefully, in Lichfield, on October 28, 2017, in his 93rd year, Robert Banks ARCST, former Director of Research, GEC Marconi, and pioneer of television service in Scotland. Robin was the son of the late Alexander and Mary Banks of Lochend, Campbeltown, and is sadly missed by his daughter Fiona and three grandchildren.
BAXTER – Suddenly at home, Ardell House, Machrihanish, on September 28, 2017, Jillian Anne Greig (Jill), in her 72nd year, dearly beloved wife of David Baxter, much loved mum of Stuart and Gail, mother-in-law of Anne and Danny, beloved nana of Scott, Gregor, Isla and Katie and loving sister of Heather and the late Susan. Service at Saddell and Carradale Parish Church, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1.00pm, funeral thereafter to Brackley Cemetery, to which all friends and family are warmly invited.

MACINDEOR – Suddenly, at Oban Hospital, on October 1, 2017, Mr Colin MacIndeor, of 12 Seaside Park, Ardrishaig, in his 94th year, beloved husband of the late Nancy, dearly loved dad of Allan, much respected father-in-law of Isabel and a dear brother of Lily and the late Jane and Iain. Cherished uncle and great uncle to all the family. A good neighbour and dear friend to many. MARTIN – Peacefully, at the Kintyre Care Home, Campbeltown, on September 29, 2017, Joseph Martin (Frank), in his 86th year. A graveside service will take place in Kilkerran Cemetery, today Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11.00am, to which all friends are respectfully invited.
BLAIR – The family of the late Anne Blair would like to thank everyone most sincerely for the many kind expressions of sympathy received in their recent sad loss. Special thanks to Dr Carina Spink, district nurses, Marie Curie nursing staff, Sheena, Mhairi, Anne and the other carers, also Niomi, Tanya and Ishbel MacLullich, for all the kind care and attention received. With thanks also to Derek Guy and Kenny McGlynn for all their efforts and kindness, and James Prentice for his support to Keira. Special thanks also to Rev David Carruthers for his comforting service, Stan Lupton Funeral Directors for professional services, Tarbert Hotel for catering and to all who paid their last respects at church and graveside. Donations to Marie Curie and Cancer Research raised £600.
CAULFIELD – Kay, Lindsay, Eleanor and family would like to thank all friends and family for all your cards, calls, flowers and support following the very sudden and sad loss of Jean. Our thanks also go to Roddy MacDonald and staff for all their help and very caring and professional services; to the Rev Derek Gibson for all his help and a lovely service; to Flowers by Morna for the beautiful floral tributes, and to the Grey Gull Inn for excellent catering. FINN – Cecil and family would like to thank friends and relatives for the kind wishes and gifts following the sad loss of Shirley. They would like to express their gratitude to Dr Norrie, the health staff and all the carers who were such an important part of Shirley’s life. Much appreciation also to Father Connor, T A Blair Funeral Directors and the Ardshiel Hotel.
GRAHAM – The family of the late Malcolm Graham, Greenfield, would like to sincerely thank all family, friends and neighbours for their expressions of sympathy and support at this sad time. Special thanks to all staff of Glenaray Ward at the Mid Argyll Community Hospital for outstanding care and kindness, to Tarbert Medical Practice, to Stan Lupton for his efficient and professional services, to the Tarbert Hotel for catering, and to John Hunt for excellent piping at the graveside. The family are especially grateful to the Rev Robert MacLeod for his support to both them and Malcolm, and for his heartfelt and comforting service. A special mention to the congregation of Tarbert Free Church for their friendship and support of Malcolm in latter years. Donations of over £700 were raised, which will be split between the Mairi Semple Fund for Cancer Relief and the Tarbert Free Church.
LANG – Colin and family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy received on their sad loss of Margaret. MCSPORRAN – Donnie, Dhonna, Ian, Stewart and Ewan would like to thank relatives and friends, and all who gave their support and cards, following the sad loss of Margaret.
