Golf team Wet, Wet, Wet squelched its way round Glenralloch under a sunny sky to win the Tarbert hotel sponsored Am-Am.

The team of Captain Keith MacTaggart, Iain Johnstone jnr and Sheena Ferguson won the title with a 52.

Last Saturday’s competition saw a large Lochgilphead contingent get the ball rolling with Kenny McAuley, David Sinclair and Colin Penman taking the clubhouse lead with a 55.

They were beaten into third place by Boobsa’s Boys: Kenny MacFarlane, Willie Hughes and Angus MacFarlane on 54.

In second place were the Chancers: Eric McDougall, Bruce Mclean and Brian Baird on 53.

A Tarbert golf club spokesman said: ‘We are grateful for the support of Lochgilphead golf club and to the Dunaverty and Cardross boys who travelled to support the event.

A delighted Keith MacTaggart thanked all who were able to supported the Am Am, the Tarbert Hotel for its sponsorship and Georgie Dickson and Sheena Ferguson for the superb catering.

The next gents’ competition is on Saturday September 9 for the James Johnson cup.
