Shepherds at Kintyre Sheepdog Trials were surprised to see Japanese and German tourists spectating.

The Borges family, from Berlin, spoke to the Courier and said how much they had enjoyed their first ever visit to Kintyre.

Dirk Borges, a physical education teacher said: ‘Visit Scotland staff told us about the Kintyre Agricultural Society show.

‘It was a great day out and really impressive. We particularly liked the sheep, champion of champions and the pipe band.

‘This week they were telling people about the sheepdog trials.’

For more on the trials see page 19.
