Wild winds gusting across Kintyre and lashing rain battered triathletes last Sunday.

As MOK TRI competitors arrived at the pool rain started to pour down and by they time they had completed the 30 length, 750m swim, the storm was at its height.

It was not just triathletes who had to endure the rough conditions. Marshals strung out across both the cycle and run courses also received a battering, and spectators were much thinner on the ground than usual.
