Genres including blues, classical, rock and R and B will provide spirited entertainment at this year’s Mitchell’s Glengyle Dalriada Connections Concert.

The afternoon show in Campbeltown Heritage Centre, on Sunday August 20, celebrates the historic links between Scotland and Northern Ireland forged during the creation of the ancient kingdom of Dalriada.

Headliners are legendary Irish fiddle and guitar duo Arty MacGlynn and Nollaig Casey joined by Gillian Frame and Tom Oakes.

MacGlynn and Casey, recognised as exemplary musicians, previously performed at MOK Fest in 1995 and 2003.

Frame and Oakes play as a duo for the first time. Frame has performed at the festival with Back of the Moon, Skipinnish and various duos.

She will be joined by multi instrumentalist Oakes to perform songs from her latest CD Pendulum and tunes from their repertoire.

Expect the usual mixture of Kintyre and visiting musicians including the Dalriada Connections Band at this value for money concert, one of the hidden gems of the weekend, at £12 a ticket including a whisky miniature.

Tickets for all concerts are available at A.P.Taylors, Campbeltown and 08444 771 000 or
