Selfies with a Disney princess was the highlight of Meadows Under Fives’ fun day.

Children flocked to the nursery for an afternoon of fun last week, despite the heavy intermittent rain, and took photographs with Princess Merida from Brave.

As well as the photo opportunity, children had their faces painted, decorated biscuits, and hooked ducks to win prizes.

They also tried their luck at the bottle stall, lucky dip and squares while mums, dads and grandparents cleared out the baking stall.

Soggy, shredded newspaper from the lucky dip stall was walked throughout the room, but that did not bother the children who were happily tearing into all the prizes they had won.

The fundraiser made £762.30 for the nursery. A spokesperson said: ‘Thank you to everybody who came and supported us at our open day. We can’t thank you all enough the children will enjoy choosing new resources.’
