MCKERRAL – GRAY – At Callander Kirk, Callander, on July 8, 2017, by Rev Martin Forrest, Peter, elder son of Peter and Kate, Dundoaran, Southend, to Amy, daughter of Stuart and Val, Claish Farm, Callander.
HAMILTON – Suddenly at home, on July 21, 2017, John (Johnnie) Reid Hamilton, aged 86 years, of Roscairn, St Clair Road, Ardrishaig, beloved and loving husband of Marie Jones, much loved father of John and Robert, dear father-in-law of Hazel and Tracey, adored grandpa of Kayleigh, Clare and Daniel and great grandpa of Lilly-May. A dear friend and good neighbour to many. Funeral service was held in Ardrishaig Parish Church, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, followed by interment at Achnabreac Cemetery. Sadly missed.
MACGILP – On July 24, 2017, peacefully, at Erskine Glasgow Care Home, Alasdair Bertram MacGilp, in his 79th year, beloved husband of Sina Brown, dearly loved father of Sandra, Ann, Alison, Shendl and Kari, a dearly loved Papie and great Papie. Funeral service at Lochgilphead Parish Church, on Wednesday, August 2 at 12.00 noon, interment thereafter at Achnabreac Cemetery, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Glasgow Erskine Care Home.
MCGRORY – Suddenly at home, New Parliament, Campbeltown, on July 16, 2017, Sean William McGrory, in his 47th year, dearly beloved father and friend of Jason and Alicia, precious and adored son of Jennifer and Tommy, dearly loved brother and best friend of Tommy, Mark, Martine and Michelle, loving brother-in-law of Alison, Rosemary, Keith and Ryan and a much loved grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and good friend to many. RIP.
NICOLL – On July 23, 2017, peacefully at home in Skipness with his family, Richard (Dick) Nicoll, in his 79th year, beloved husband of Phyllis Howie and much loved father of Jennifer, Richard, David, Colin and Lynsey, and grandad of Robert, Stewart, Cameron and James. Funeral ceremony will take place at Dundee Crematorium on Thursday, August 3 at 10.15am, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Support. A further commemorative gathering will take place locally, details of which will be advised in due course.
BRYDSON – June, Fiona and all the family wish to thank everyone for flowers, cards, phone calls and messages of sympathy following the sad loss of Allan. Thanks to the Rev William Crossan for a comforting service and to T A Blair Funeral Directors for professional services. Our most sincere thanks and gratitude to all hospital staff, carers and district nurses who looked after Dad/Papa over the last year. You all do an amazing job, thank you.
COPE – Jan and family would like to thank everyone for their calls, cards, flowers and messages following their sad loss. Grateful thanks to Dr Anderson and staff at the Acute Ward, Campbeltown Hospital for their amazing care over the last four months, Macmillan and Marie Curie nurses, district nurses and carers. Thank you to Rev W Crossan for his comforting service, to Cath Black for the music, to Kenneth, Rhys and Alasdair Blair for their caring and professional service, to Zofia Sloan and staff at Glenbarr who provided wonderful food, and finally to all who came to pay their respects at the church and graveside and gave generously to the retiral collection which raised £533.
MACPHERSON – The family of the late Elizabeth (Elsie) MacPherson would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy received on their sad loss. Special thanks to T A Blair Funeral Directors, to Rev Philip Wallace and to the Ardshiel Hotel. Thanks also to the ambulance staff and staff at Campbeltown Hospital, for the care shown to Elsie, along with her carers from Carr Gomm. The retiral collection raised £364 for Lorne and Lowland Church.
