As the project to create a watersports centre of excellence gets wind in its sails, Campbeltown Sailing Club has offered a great value summer dinghy package.
In conjunction with Active Schools, the Royal Yacht Association (RYA) and Awards For All the club is offering sailing lessons for beginners and improvers.
Priced at just £30, for anyone in full time education, or unemployed and under 25 and £50 for adults for 18 hours tuition.
The courses, which are all of six three hour half day sessions, will run between August 7 and September 3 as follows: One – August 7 till August 12, 9am to 12pm, two – August 7 till August 12, 2pm to 5pm, three – weekends 9am to 4pm on August 19, 20 and 26, four – weekends 9am to 4pm on August 27 and September 2 and 3.
The courses are open to anyone 10 years old or older, able to swim 25 metres in open water and there are six places available on each course.
By the end of the course participants will have learned to sail small dinghies and be able to sail independently and with another person. They will have the opportunity to be assessed at RYA Level One or higher.
In a great value add-on anyone completing the course will also have membership of Campbeltown Sailing Club until end of December 2018 and be eligible to take the club dinghies out.
There is also the possibility of a course between July 31 and August 4, although it is not included in the official poster. For further information contact: Sid Gallagher, 1 Hutcheon Court, Campbeltown or call: 01586 552294.
