It is less than a month until triathletes swim, saddle up and sprint for victory in the fourth MOKTri.

The triathlon event, organised by the members of Campbeltown Running Club, centered round the Aqualibrium and Kinloch Green bursts into action on Saturday August 6 at 10.30am.

The race includes 30 laps of the 25m pool, followed by a hilly 21km out and back cycle along the east coast of Kintyre with, if the weather is fine superb views across to Arran and Ailsa Craig.

The last discipline is a 5km run out and back along the seafront of Campbeltown Loch.

There are prizes for male and female first second and third as well as a prize for the first team home.

Prizes are sourced from Kintyre crafts people, and although MOKTri focuses on taking part the winners’ prizes are as unique as they are beautiful.

Race medals and goody bags with technical T-shirts will be awarded to all finishers.

There will also be the opportunity for snacks and refreshments at the prize giving ceremony.

A spokesperson said: ‘As with any event, it would be near impossible to host without the assistance of our sponsors at West Coast Motors.

‘We are very grateful to them, our marshals, and all the competitors.’
