High octane Celtic dance kings The Peatbog Faeries, Scotland’s nine-man, Ska juggernaut, Bombskare and CalMac Culture winners Start Static, all feature on MOK Fest’s top bill next month.

As MOK Fest celebrates its silver anniversary in style the three great bands’ performances, promise something for everyone, at the Saturday night Victoria hall concert on Aug 19.

Hailing from the Isle of Skye, The Peatbog Faeries are the figurehead trailblazers of the Celtic dance music renaissance.

Drawing upon a dazzling myriad of influences from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more, they take traditional Scottish music and bring it fresh-faced and breathless into the 21st century.

They have twice been voted best live band at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards they have played a number of high-profile live appearances including Glastonbury and Womad.

Describing their sound as: ‘Ferocious ska with a Scottish death reggae twist – like the Blues Brothers on speed, crossed with Madness on Prozac,’ Bombskare have been firm favourites on Scottish live music scene for years.

Renowned for their technical prowess as much as their infectious ska anthems, they combine lush, three-part harmonies with choppy guitar attacks and an explosive horn section to truly blow the audience away.

Glasgow indie rockers, Start Static bring their infectious mix of choruses and tunes to the festival and will open the concert.

This year’s concert will be partially seated with tables and chairs and doors opening at 9.30pm.

Tickets for this event and all the concerts are available from A.P. Taylors, Main Street Campbeltown and on-line from Ticketweb at or phone 08444 771 000.
