A football league with 38 clubs has scored another success by adding Carradale AFC.
From next season, which kicks off on Saturday August 19, the East Kintyre side will join 38 other teams split into three divisions.
As newcomers ‘Dale will start at the bottom of Division three but are sure to climb the rankings.
‘Dale’s first match, on the MOK Fest weekend, will be, at home, in the President’s cup against either Third Lanark, Baillieston or Renfrew Thistle. Each team plays each other once with the top two going through to the next round.
This weekend ‘Dale welcomes SAFL side Tarbert, to the village, for a pre-season friendly, to be refereed by Peter McCallum, kicking off at 2.15pm.
Tarbert hopes to host a return match on Friday evening July 21 but as players will be celebrating Joey Boyd’s marriage in Tarbert the following day, the date has not been confirmed.
On July 29 there will be an early kick off, at 1pm, when overseas team Brodick voyage from Arran. The following Saturday, August 5, Cardross, which has joined the SAFL, will play a friendly in Carradale kicking off at 2pm.
