The A816 has reopened at the Oude Dam after an accident involving a car and a motorbike this morning.

Police received a report of the incident two miles from Kilmelford at 8.20am, and an air ambulance was sent to the scene.

The driver of the motorbike is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The road was closed for over three hours until it re-opened at 11.40am.

Oban Times reader Allan McKie sent this video footage of the helicopter arriving, with the comment: ‘How’s this for bravery from the pilot? Unbelievable where he put down.’
