A top New York fashion photographer snapped Southend in a location shoot.

Josh Olins, originally from London, but now based in the Big Apple, has worked for Vogue and brands including Calvin Klein, Balenclaga and Tommy Hilfiger.

Last week he brought glamour to South Kintyre with four models, three women and a man, on a three-day shoot, for Spanish clothes manufacturing company Massimo Dutti.

During shooting, at locations including Carskiey House and the Mull, Mr Olins used full-frame digital cameras but no location lighting, reportedly relying on Kintyre’s abundant midsummer sun.

Largely self contained, the shoot was organised by location specialist LS Productions. Originally an Edinburgh business, founded in Leith, it  has expanded with offices in New York, London and Manchester.

When the Courier contacted LS a member of staff said they could not speak about the shoot because of confidentiality clauses with the clients.

Campbeltown taxis were busy and one driver ferried the shoot’s photographic assistants, Alexei Topounoy, 28, from Belarus and Japanese man Tadaaki Shibuya, 38, with all their kit to Glasgow airport on Thursday morning.
