A spokesperson for Carradale primary’s inaugural fun day said bringing the community to see the school was as important as boosting funds.
Last Saturday’s event made about £450 after costs but Fiona Lavery-Jones said: ‘The event was not just about raising money. Many groups, such as the first responders, Carradale Harbour Enterprises Ltd (CHEL) and the golf professionals, were able to use the fun day to showcase things Carradale has to offer.
‘Fine weather gave us a good turnout and we would like to thank everyone who supported us particularly with baking and raffle prizes.’
