Exemplary science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) teaching at an Islay primary added up to a Scottish education award.

Port Ellen primary School was awarded the STEM prize at a recent glittering award ceremony in Glasgow.

Anne Paterson, acting head of education at Argyll and Bute council said: ‘The teachers and pupils work well together and, through a number of innovative projects, have created a positive learning experience which promotes respect, ambition and achievement.’
