A husband and wife team of Salvation Army captains have been promoted.

Ruth and Ben Russell, who moved to Campbeltown last July, officially became majors on Wednesday.

Their promotion was revealed to the Courier this week following a regular monthly coffee morning last Saturday.

As well as the usual refreshments there was a bake and craftwork stall at the event which raised about £200.
