THE CROWDS who watched the match to decide the league championship witnessed a classic display of darts. After the Burnside and the Ailsa B teams finished top of the league, a play-off was needed to choose the winners. Gavin McLachlan and Stephen Jordan excelled, with Gavin hitting two 15-dart legs but losing 3-2 as Stephen showed the great form he has had all season.

The Burnside took the first game with Charles Robertson beating James White, but Vince Jordan beat Kenny Docherty to make it 1-1.
The Ailsa went ahead when Stephen Jordan beat Gavin McLachlan, with Davie Reid beating Willie Ross to make it 2-2. The last game in the singles was between Martin Coffield and Tony McMillan. Martin won to make the singles score 3-2 to the Burnside.

Doubles next and the teams won one each to make the score 4-3 to the Burnside, meaning the Ailsa had to win the triples match to keep the game going.

Both teams were scoring well in this 1001 game but with the Burnside left with 109 Martin Coffield stepped up and hit T20 17 and D16 to win the match and the league title for the Burnside.

The organisers would like to thank the Kilbrannan for hosting the match and providing food.
