THE job of building Campbeltown’s all weather sports pitch will be out for tender by the end of this month, South Kintyre Sport Council was told at its latest meeting by Councillor Rory Colville.

Amongst the items still be to decided on is the way the ground will be stabilised; Kinloch Green is very waterlogged.

One method could use stone to a metre deep or a mixture of concrete in soil.

Whatever method is chosen Argyll and Bute Council is keen to avoid a repeat of problems on the all weather pitches at Tarbert and on Islay where there has been subsidence.
