New football team Campbeltown Pupils Ladies held a successful race night fundraiser as interest soars in women’s football in the area.

Although a new team, they clearly have community backing, after the side’s race night raised £1,707.

Campbeltown Pupils drew a blank  as they took on Eaglesham in their final home match of the  season.

Played at Kinloch’s all-weather pitch, the Pupils knew a win would all but secure their Premier status for next season, but were left to contemplate what might have been had their pressure been converted into goals.

Campbeltown Pupils under 13s climbed to third place in their West of Scotland amateur football youth league after a 13-0 victory against Clydebank.

The youngsters were confident from the start, thanks partly to a win against the visitors earlier in the season.

Campbeltown Pupils pulled off their best result of the season so far by beating table-toppers Finnart on Saturday February 7 2015.

A high scoring first half, followed by a tremendous defensive performance, saw the McFadyens-sponsored visitors seal their third win in five away league games to move into fourth in the league.
