A83 due to reopen Friday August 3 at 7pm

The A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful was due to reopen at 7pm on Friday August 3 2012.
The road had closed on Wednesday August 1 following a landslide around 4pm in the afternoon and further slides over night which left around 1,000 tonnes of debris on the carriageway.
Scotland Transerv spent much of Friday clearing the debris.
The site was also visited by Alex Neil,Scottish Cabinet secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment.
He met with local business owners, community representatives and councillors to discuss what could be done to reduce the risk of disruption in the future and promised a task force would be set up to oversee progress.
