A PEACEFUL Sunday afternoon was shattered by a breathtaking game of football – and three goals for the watching home crowd – when Campbeltown Pupils’ senior team and Dumbarton FC’s development side locked horns at Kintyre Park.

Thistle burst Pupils’ bubble

Campbeltown Pupils’ winning home run came to an end on Saturday February 28 with a uninspiring showing against Alba Thistle.

Having drawn 2-2 in a tight match against Alba in Paisley a fortnight before, the Pupils were hoping to seal a win to keep the pressure on the teams at the SAFL summit.

Young Pupils notch up two quick wins

Campbeltown Pupils youths have been in fine form, winning two matches in two days.

The under-13s side sealed their first win when they hosted to Dumbarton Riverside at Kinloch’s all-weather pitch on Saturday February 21, before a six-goal show against Broomhill Sports Club.

Campbeltown Pupils beat table toppers

Campbeltown Pupils pulled off their best result of the season so far by beating table-toppers Finnart on Saturday February 7 2015.

A high scoring first half, followed by a tremendous defensive performance, saw the McFadyens-sponsored visitors seal their third win in five away league games to move into fourth in the league.

Pupils dump Dunoon out of the cup

Campbeltown Pupils showed they were up for the cup on  Saturday January 24 with a four-goal win over Dunoon Athletic.

The McFadyens-sponsored Pupils scored two goals in either half to claim the bragging rights in a one-sided Argyll derby at Kinloch’s 3G pitch.

On Saturday January 31 Pupils travel to Paisley to play Alba Thistle, weather permitting.

Pupils’ cup hopes come to an end

Campbeltown Pupils’ Scottish Cup hopes were ended at the fourth round last Saturday at the hands of Craigshill Thistle from Livingston.

The visitors to Livingston did hold their own for 45 minutes – before a second-half blitz from the Lothian side saw them dumped out of the competition.
