CAMPBELTOWN’S popular British Red Cross Shop reopened on Tuesday morning, after extending into a neighbouring property and undergoing a complete refit.
The shop was formally opened by Ailsa Stewart, who first came up with the idea for the ‘thrift shop’ for the benefit of Campbeltown in 1977. Last year alone the shop raised more than £55,000 to help Red Cross Work at home and overseas. Cutting the ribbon, from left to right: Sheena Howarth, shop manager; Jan McNair, assistant manager with her grandaughter Ellie McNair; Kevin Morgan Scottish retail manager for the Red Cross, Ailsa Stewart and Sheena Graham who has been a Red Cross volunteer for more than 50 years.
