ALTHOUGH the weather was rather dull Campbeltown Lifeboat Gala Day turned out to be a success with plenty of people showing their support.
The main highlight of the day was the exercises carried out by Rescue 177 from HMS Gannet at Prestwick, which carried out lifts from the water, Campbeltown All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) and the Inshore Lifeboat in Campbeltown Loch.
A rescue mission was also carried out on Beaver Bay, involving a man overboard, the boat taking on water and a casualty who was removed onto the ALB.
Teas, coffees, and home-baking were also provided by the Kintyre Ladies Guild.
Dalintober and Millknowe Tenants and Residents Association, RAF, the sea cadets and the ladies Inner Wheel were some of the stalls present. The Rotary Club also sold their Wally burgers which proved popular selling over 200.
Peter McAllister ran horse and cart rides and Mike Taylor of Kintyre Seatours donated any money he made to the RNLI.
Campbeltown Lifeboat would like to thank everyone who gave their time and helped out on the day and those who came along and supported the Gala Day.
