Down Memory Lane
Published: 27 June, 2008
Flashback to June of 1982 and a scorching hot day when the temperature hit 85°F. Members of St John’s 141 Recreational Club and the RAF Machrihanish Families Club are seen here taking a well earned rest and drink stop on the Rest and Be Thankful during their three-day bed-push between Campbeltown and Erskine to raise funds for Erskine Hospital and they raised an impressive £3,000. This photograph is courtesy of John Shaw who took part in the bed push and can be seen second from the left, wearing a very fetching handkerchief hat.
