Published:  13 June, 2008

TWO Campbeltown Grammar School pupils will be among the guests attending the prestigious Capgemini Black and White Ball in August after they got to the final of a design competition.

They had to design a ‘Love your World’ Eco goodie-bags and are one group of finalists out of three schools chosen across Scotland.

The final designs were chosen by celebrity ambassador of The Prince’s Trust, Will Young who chose Robyn-Anne Blackburn and Christopher Sloss’ design, and they will now appear as VIP guests at the Ball.

The competition has been run as part of a programmer at the school devised by The Prince’s Trust Scotland, ‘xlerate with xl’, which is targeted at young people aged 14 to 16.

Campbeltown Grammar is up against two other schools, Whitburn Academy and Bannockburn High School with the winning school will receiving a wind turbine from Renewable Energy firm Windsave.

Anne Cousins, teacher and Prince’s Trust board member said: ‘We are thrilled the pupils have got through to the final.

‘They all thoroughly enjoyed taking part and are very excited about the prospect of going to the ball in Edinburgh.’
