SATURDAY’S match was a crucial game for both Campbeltown Pupils and Rutherglen as a win for the Pupils would have promoted them and lessened the pressure for tomorrow’s match.
Now they must win tomorrow away to Dunoon to gain promotion.
The Pupils have had to twice come from behind to snatch a point against the basement strugglers.
Rutherglen took the lead at 24 minutes with a low drive past stand-by goalkeeper Craig Colville.
The Pupils missed a host of chances to equalise before half time but the score remained 1-0 at the break.
Fraser Wylie scored with a brilliant header at the back post to level at 64 minutes. Minutes later the visitors took the lead once again following a goal mouth scramble.
The Pupils levelled for the second time at 83 minutes with Gary Grumoli heading home from Paul McWhirter’s free kick.
The result relegated Rutherglen who played very well throughout the match.
