IN THESE days of the internet it’s not often that you hear of the old method of a message in a bottle, but one girl from Prestwick gave it a go.
A bottle with a message inside from a girl called Lauren was discovered on a beach at High Ugadale by Frances Hood of Peninver whilst out walking her dog.
The message doesn’t indicate what age Lauren is, but does give her address and appeals for the finder to send their name, age and where they found it to her. Lauren explains how she found the bottle with the message in it and had thrown it back into the sea.
Mrs Hood who came across the bottle on May 12, almost one month after the message was sent according the date on the message, did exactly what Lauren had asked.
So Mrs Hood sent a Campbeltown postcard to the address explaining that she would find someone who would be of a similar age as Lauren to write to her.
