CAMPBELTOWN Boys fell to a 5-2 home defeat on Saturday May 10, after mid-table Arkleston proved too strong for the Whisky Macs sponsored side.
After falling two goals behind, it was the Boys who made an initial comeback, with a goal from James Armour shortly before half-time, slotting home with his left foot.
After the break the Boys equalised, Tommy Finn converting a rebound for his second goal of the campaign.
Despite this valiant effort, three goals within 10 minutes from Arkleston saw the Boys deflated, and there was to be no recovery from this setback.
The defeat sees the Boys resigned to Premier Division Two’s bottom position, where they await a possible play-off with Lochgilphead Red Star, with the Boys being relegated to the division below if they lose this match.
Tomorrow (Saturday) the Boys’ final regular fixture is at home to Aikenhead Thistle, who are chasing the Premier Two title.
Kick off is 2.30pm at The Meadows.
