CAMPBELTOWN Boys exited the Jimmy Marshall Trophy at the Quarter Final stage on Saturday, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Dunoon.

In perfect conditions, the Boys’ first half efforts were undermined by simple errors, and frustratingly, the away side took the lead when a header across goal saw a shot driven over the line, despite Scott MacBrayne’s fine attempt to keep it out.

The concession of a penalty by the Boys 10 minutes into the second half, which was converted by Loughlin to MacBrayne’s left hand post.

The Boys saw wonderful opportunities passed up, before sub John McCallum scored with a left-footed effort.

In the last minute, the Whisky Macs sponsored Boys struck the bar, albeit due to a near own goal, but the semi final date was taken by Dunoon.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the Boys play Castlemilk, with kick off 2.30pm at the Meadows.
