Down Memory Lane
Published: 18 April, 2008
Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, will visit Campbeltown Hospital on Monday to officially open the new casualty department, so we thought that this week’s Down Memory Lane should feature a picture from our files of the last time a plaque was unveiled at the hospital. It happened in 2000 when HRH Duchess of Gloucester visited Campbeltown. Fraser Wylie, then a pupil at Castlehill Primary School helped the Duchess unveil the plaque for the new Bengullion Ward after winning a competition to rename the care for the elderly ward. He is seen here with the Duchess and his parents, Finlay and Margaret. You can also see the Wylie family in this week’s Kintyre Social Scene on page five.
