Islay success for Kintyre swimmers
Published:  02 April, 2008

KINTYRE Amateur Swimming Club (KASC) travelled to Islay at the weekend for a swimming competition.

Six adults and 23 children took to the high seas and travelled from Kennacraig to Port Ellen, and then onto the swimming pool at Bowmore.

Karen Siddall, a swim coach from the Islay and Jura Dolphins, had organised four mixed teams with swimmers from KASC and Islay and Jura Dolphins.

This was very successful as the kids were competing against one another, and also achieving personal best times.

Both clubs swam very well and enjoyed being involved in a friendly but competitive environment, which will hopefully be happening more often in the near future.

KASC looks forward to Islay travelling to Campbeltown later in the year and competing with our swimmers in Aqualibrium.
