CAMPBELTOWN Young Farmers held their first AGM in the Argyll Hotel, Campbeltown last week after a successful year.
There was no active Young Farmers Association in the town for four years until last year when they got together and formed a committee to run Campbeltown Young Farmers.
At the AGM there was a chairman’s report, and the allocation of office bearers, with Thomas Cameron, Stuart Newlands, and Susan Ralston all remaining in their previous roles of chairman, secretary and treasurer.
Thomas Ralston has been appointed at vice chairman, John Martin vice secretary and Jennifer Martin as vice treasurer.
Two new committee members were elected as Karen Semple and David Brewster.
Twenty-eight people attended the meeting on Friday night and the group will hopefully be meeting in the near future to discuss the syllabus for this year’s events.
The last event that was held by Campbeltown Young Farmers was the Quiz night in the Argyll Hotel on March 14, with around 40 members turning up to show their support.
In between the usual quiz, with quiz master Thomas Cameron, there were bonus rounds involving the members having to blow up milking gloves and ‘go fetch’.
