Tonnes of timber leave port

LAST week saw 4000 tonnes of timber being loaded in two days as the Scot Carrier and the Scot Marina docked on Thursday and Friday.
In all, 6100 tonnes of timber left the Port of Campbeltown in the last week.
Assistant Harbour Master Stephen Scally reported: ‘The Scot Carrier came into the harbour on Thursday morning, leaving for Norway on Friday morning loaded with 1500 tonnes of timber.
‘As soon as the Scot Carrier left, the Scot Marina took her place in the harbour on Friday morning, loading 2500 tonne of timber for Sweden.
‘On Wednesday The Fingal came in and loaded 1100 tonnes of timber and headed for Londonderry, with the Red Duchess also coming in and loading 1000 tonne and heading for Londonderry as well.’
