The warm up. More photos on gallery |
LAST weekend saw the third Sport Relief Event in Campbeltown taking place. Home-Start MAJIK hosted the Campbeltown Loch Esplanade Mile again this year providing the opportunity for the whole family to get involved in the challenge, walk, run, jog a mile and raise funds for a good cause.
This year the challenge was extended by adding a three mile and a six mile option. This proved popular with 27 runners heading off along the leerside to the jetty and to the three mile stone with just over 100 completed the mile. Some of the regular swimmers at Aqualibrium took up the challenge and swam a mile for Sport Relief. Active schools and the swimming club took part this year, involving many young people.
All the money raised will go to help people living incredibly tough lives both in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries so a huge thanks to everyone who got involved by fundraising, donating or getting sponsored to take part.
