Top class brass again triumphant

THIS year is one for the history books for Campbeltown Brass.
The band has won a magnificent victory in the Scottish Brass Band Championships and also celebrates its silver anniversary.
The band won the third section competition last year and went to the championships in Glenrothes expecting no more than to hold their own and get a good placing amidst stiff competition.
But they came first by two clear points and soprano cornet player Hannah McSporran gained the award for best instrumentalist.
Campbeltown Brass will celebrate its 25th anniversary over the weekend of June 20-22 with a reunion, gala concert and exhibition.
