Away defeat for United

CAMPBELTOWN United were faced with a defeat when they played away to Lochgilphead Wanderers recently.

David Johnston put Campbeltown one up with a volley going in the goal off the crossbar after 15 minutes.

Although the Wanderers came close to scoring McPhee was on good form in the United goal.

The score remained 1-0 to United after the first half.

After half time, the home side managed to take the lead after five minutes.

United drew level ten minutes into the second half, but were overcome by the Lochgilphead side with just 11 minutes to go.

The winning margin was slightly unkind to Campbeltown with the result in doubt until the final goal.

The final score for the match was Lochgilphead Wanderers 4, Campbeltown United 2.
