Published:  22 February, 2008

CAMPBELTOWN United were knocked out of the Under 17s Regional Cup on Saturday when they played home to Glenvale.

Glenvale managed to get two goals in the space of ten minutes sunk into the net, which United never managed to recover from the unexpected put down.

Just before half time Ryan Gilchrist, who was brought in from the young team to make up numbers, successfully planted a goal at the back of the net making the score 2-1 to Glenvale. Half way through the second part of the game, young ‘Rooster’ Craig Robertson gave away a penalty, with Glenvale successfully taking advantage of that opportunity to widen the scoring gap. Two minutes later a goal from Greg Scally produce the final score of the match of 3-2 to Glenvale.

Although United fought hard they were battered back down by the opposition.

Man of the match was awarded to Craig Robertson.

Glenvale are now through to the next round of the Under 17s Regional Cup.
