The Campbeltown Courier
We’ve done Let’s do, so now let’s listen
Published:  22 February, 2008

LAST year a team from BBC Radio Scotland rolled into Campbeltown and said: ‘Let’s do the Show right Here.’

Lindsay Gillies the producer and his team recorded a show featuring the host of talent available in Campbeltown.

The series arrives at a different town each week, records a show, chats to the people taking part and the proceeds from the event go to a local good cause. In the case of Campbeltown it was Home-Start.

The show was compered by the Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus and everyone who took part and filled the hall at Campbeltown Grammar School had a great time.

You can relive it all today (Friday) when BBC Radio Scotland broadcasts the programme at 11.30am and then repeats it at midnight, and you can also listen by visiting the BBC website.

Lindsay Gillies told The Courier this week: ‘We had an absolutely great time in Campbeltown and everyone who took part seemed to as well.

‘The whole town was so welcoming and the show really came together thanks to the organisational skills of Jackie Fulton from Home-Start.’

Jackie said: ‘I’d once again like to thank everyone in the town for supporting us on September 13. The event made £3,700 for Home-Start.

‘I’m really looking forward to listening to the show and I hope everyone enjoys it all over again’
