A piece of Campbeltown’s industrial history - a photograph of the platers at Campbeltown Shipyard at Trench Point in 1913. At that time the yard was making vessels as large as 7,000 tons that were not completed at the yard but towed down to Greenock for engine installation and completion. The yard officially closed in 1922 but reopened in 1968 as Campbeltown Shipyard Ltd, building steel fishing vessels.
