Northend Thistle travelled from the Isle of Arran to play in the second leg of the Kinloch Quaich.

They were 7-4 down from the first leg before the start of play. The Lochranza side battled throughout the 90 minutes and they had several good chances to score but poor shooting never troubled Todd in Carradale’s goal.

The only goal in the first half came in the 29 minute when young Charles Charlewood’s efforts were sent clear. His shot was stopped by the advancing keeper but it fell to Alan Robertson who forwarded it into the empty net.

The home team doubled their lead in the 47 minute. Gregor Croll picked up at the ball on the left side shooting low into the far corner of the net. Carradale went 3-0 up on the hour mark.

Iain Galbraith pulling the strings in mid field made a diagonal ball into Greig Patterson, his low drive from 12 yards beat the Lochranza goalkeeper.

Matt Milne the skipper of Thistle pushed his side forward looking to pull back their deficit but his forwards missed two chances mid way during the second half.

Donnie Lawson scored the fourth goal for the home side blasting it into the net after a good link up with Croll.

In the 76 minute Charlewood coolly got round the Thistle keeper sliding home for Carradale’s fifth goal.

Croll concluded the scoring in the 85 minute when he picked up a pass from the left back position. He ran 40 yards before scoring the final goal allowing Carradale to retain the Kinloch Quaich for another year.

The game was played in a very sporting manner both teams enjoyed their day.
